New Diggings at Tel Shiloh

Well, the archeological digging at Tel Shiloh has begun again.

Here I am in the new rectangle being opened on Roman or late Second Temple floorstones:

Pointing to a possible Second Temple (Hasmonean?) period column:

Pointing to doorway floor with bolt crevices (and look just right from my shoulder and you can also make out a carved-out stone used probably for pounding/grinding):

Just another section of the new area:

At the opening of a deep, some 5 meters down, water collection cavern under the basilica floor and the Muslim welli built on the church:

Return for more.
